Passing of Police Officer Eric Hernandez #20
The NYPD Football Family would like to express their deepest sympathies to the family of Eric Hernandez. Eric, a police officer for 2 years, was assigned to the impact unit of the 52 Precinct. He was a rookie member of the NYPD "Finest" Football Team and a member of the NPSFL. He played running back and wore number 20. Eric passed away on Wednesday, February 8th, due to injuries he sustained in a vicious gang assault, which resulted in a friendly fire tragedy. Eric fought a hard battle for 11 days before succumbing to his injuries. Eric is survived by his mother, father, step-mother, brother and sister.
